Vinoclean Micellar Cleansing Water
Dove’s Irritation Care Fragrance Free Nourishing Body Wash impressed us with its exceptionally moisturizing, gentle formula that delivers a luxe-feeling cleansing experience. True to claim, this is an ideal option for anyone with dry, sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.
Housed in a large squeeze bottle, this body wash has a creamy, silky consistency that glides over skin and produces a soft, milky lather as it intermingles with water. Dove did an excellent job of choosing a gentle blend of non-drying surfactants to cleanse with minimal disruption to skin’s barrier.
After the body wash is rinsed off, skin is left feeling soft, thanks in-part to the emollient-rich petrolatum it contains. Skin-replenishing glycerin plays a supporting role in boosting hydration, alongside stearic acid and soybean oil to help strengthen skin’s protective barrier against moisture loss. Even though these ingredients have limited contact time with skin, they still help add to the conditioning effect this body wash delivers.
We’re happy to see that Dove made this formula fragrance free, which is great news for all skin types but especially so for rosacea-prone or sensitive skin. (In case you didn’t you know, fragrance is one of the most common triggers of skin inflammation.)
Our only word of caution would be that this might not be the best option to reach for if you’re prone to body acne or need heavy-duty cleansing (you’ll likely need a body wash that can better cut through pore-clogging debris, sweat, and oil for that). For everyone else Dove’s Irritation Care Fragrance Free Nourishing Body Wash is a real winner thanks to its cushiony, creamy cleansing formula!
- Creamy, silky consistency produces a soft, milky lather while gently cleansing skin.
- Ideal mix of mild surfactants, emollients, and skin-replenishing ingredients for sensitive skin.
- Leaves a soft, smooth feel after being rinsed.
- Fragrance free (especially important for rosacea-prone skin).
- Not your best bet if you’re prone to body acne or need more thorough cleansing.

Strengths: Inexpensive; available in every major drugstore and mass-market store; some very good body washes.
Weaknesses: The Beauty Bars are not as bad as true soaps, but all bar cleansers present problems for skin.
From its beginnings in the 1940s with its still-available original Beauty Bar, Dove has expanded and the curiously curtailed its selection of skin-care products to the point where their facial care offerings are back to nothing more than bar cleansers.
Although their Beauty Bars have their share of problems (such as containing drying ingredients and not rinsing well), they’re better than traditional bar soap. However, if you can get past your propensity for bar cleansers, neighboring lines at the drugstore offer better, gentler, water soluble cleansers (the kind Dove has offered in the past).
Where Dove holds sway at the drugstore is with its vast selection of body washes. Although the formulas often differ only by fragrance, for the most part they are excellent, affordable options, especially for normal to dry skin. The body washes in their men’s line aren’t quite as elegant as those in the main line, and guys should know their skin will do just fine with Dove’s regular body washes.
Note: All Dove products contain fragrance unless otherwise noted.
